Dear parents, carers, staff, governors and friends,
This week at Brindishe Lee…
It was wonderful to welcome all our parents, carers and children back to school on Tuesday after the holidays. It has been an unusually quiet week at school. It has been great to welcome one or two new families to our school community.
A message from the F@B team…
We are looking to organise another F@B ‘Gardening’ morning on Saturday 8th February. The parents and carers did a fantastic job during the autumn term and we are looking for some keen gardeners to help out again. Please let a member of the school office or F@B team know if you are able to help out on the morning. Thank you.
We are on the look out….
Thank you to all the parents and carers who have donated books for our book exchange. This will be opening very soon near the main entrance to the school. We are still on the look out for children’s books which you may no longer need at home. If you have any spare books, then please bring them in to the school office. The more books we have the more children will be able to read! Thank you!
Messages from the office and myself…
Can we please ask that all children come into school ready for the school day. That includes bringing with them their pack lunch, book
bag and any other items needed for the day.
We are currently refurbishing our greenhouse and are looking to get rid of our chicken coop. If you know anyone who would be interested in taking it off our hands, then please speak to a member of the office team or myself on the school gate.
We are once again on the look out for parents or carers who would like to listen to some of our children read. Please contact me if you are able to give up an hour or two each week to support our children.
A message from our Rights Respecting Team…
We are still on the look out for parents and carers to join our rights respecting team. Please speak to Ms Hearne, Mr Baguley or a member of the office team.
Rights Respecting focus…
Article 27 (adequate standard of living)
In assembly this week I spoke about the importance of every child having the right to a standard of living that is good enough to meet their physical and social needs and support their development.
A plea from year 1…
If you have any spare cardboard boxes etc for junk modelling, we would love to have it! Also, if you have any unwanted dressing up/role play costumes for children, especially 'Super heroes' characters we would welcome it with open arms!
Online Safety message…
Did you know that 48% of children know more about the internet than they do, and 73% of children agree.
If you are in anyway unsure about an app, game or want to find out more about how to support your child to stay safe online, visit https://www.internetmatters.org/
Internet matters are able to offer you advice and information on tackling online safety issues. Alongside this, you can speak to your child’s class teacher or Ms Lea, who are always willing to help!
Fantastic attendance this week!
- Key stage 1: Reception 98.47%
- Key stage 2: Year 6 Cherry 98.03%
Well done to these classes! Please remember that we are always aiming for your child to be in school every day of the week.
We are looking to achieve over 99% attendance very soon! Please help us by making sure your child is at school every day.
